Privacy policy

This privacy policy explains which personal data we process in the online shop motorrad-shop-schweiz.ch, for what purpose, and what rights you have. It is governed by the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (Data Protection Act, FADP; SR 235.1), in force since 1 September 2023.

2. Ordering vouchers

For an order, we collect your salutation, first and last name, e-mail address and billing address as well as the order details (voucher, price, payment method, time). If you enter a dedication («Gift from» / «For»), we store it and print it on the voucher. For each voucher we store the voucher number, value, expiry date and redemption status.

We process this data to perform the purchase contract, to deliver the voucher as a PDF by e-mail, to check its redemption and to meet our legal obligations. Vouchers are redeemed when booking a course date at www.mx-academy.ch.

3. Customer account

If you open a customer account, we store your details and orders there so that you can view them and place further orders more easily. You can request the deletion of your customer account at any time.

4. Contact form and e-mail

If you contact us via the contact form or by e-mail, we process your details (salutation, first and last name, e-mail address, phone number, subject and comment) in order to answer your enquiry.

5. Product reviews and newsletter

If you submit a product review in your customer account, we store it and publish it on the product page after checking it. If you subscribe to the newsletter, we use your e-mail address to send you information about our offers. The subscription is confirmed by e-mail (double opt-in); you can unsubscribe at any time.

6. Server log files

When you visit the website, the server stores technical information such as the IP address, date and time, the page accessed, browser and operating system. We need this information for secure and stable operation. We do not combine it with other data and keep it only as long as necessary for this purpose.

7. Cookies

We only use technically necessary cookies: a session cookie (for the shopping cart and login), a cookie for the time zone and a cookie that stores your cookie settings. We do not use statistics, tracking or advertising cookies. In the cookie settings you can additionally allow comfort functions (videos from YouTube or Vimeo); such content is only loaded after you have given your consent.

8. Recipients

We only pass on personal data where this is necessary for the purposes mentioned:

Hosting and e-mail delivery: METANET AG, Josefstrasse 218, 8005 Zürich (servers in Switzerland)
Payment with TWINT: TWINT AG and the financial institutions or payment service providers involved receive the information required for the payment
Authorities and courts, insofar as we are legally obliged to do so

9. Disclosure abroad

We process your personal data in Switzerland. If you allow videos from YouTube (Google) or Vimeo in the cookie settings, data such as your IP address is transmitted to these providers when the videos are loaded, including to the USA. This only happens with your express consent (Art. 17 para. 1 let. a FADP).

10. Retention

We only keep personal data for as long as is necessary for the purposes mentioned or required by law. We keep business records and accounting documents, which include orders and invoices, for ten years (Art. 958f CO). We store voucher data at least until the end of their validity.

11. Data security

We protect your data with appropriate technical and organisational measures (Art. 8 FADP). The connection to our website is encrypted (HTTPS).

12. Your rights

You can request information on whether and which personal data we process about you (Art. 25 FADP) and request the personal data you have provided to us in a common electronic format (Art. 28 FADP). You can request that incorrect data be corrected, that data be deleted or that processing be stopped, unless a legal obligation prevents this (Art. 32 FADP). You can withdraw any consent you have given at any time with effect for the future. Please contact info@mx-academy.ch for this.

13. No automated individual decisions

We do not make automated individual decisions and do not carry out profiling.

14. Links to other websites

Our shop contains links to www.mx-academy.ch and www.honda-motorrad-zuerich.ch. The privacy notices of these websites apply to them.

15. Changes

We adapt this privacy policy when our data processing changes. The version published on this page applies.
